This website uses a small number of cookies. This page explains what they are, why we use them and how to change your choice. It is written to meet the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy too.
Your choice
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and nothing other than strictly necessary cookies is set until you choose. If you close the banner without choosing, we treat that as a no.
You can change your mind at any time using the Manage cookies link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
The cookies we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| evolve-cookie-consent (local storage) | Evolve Partners | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask on every page | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare (our hosting provider's network) | Tells real visitors apart from automated bots, to protect the site | Strictly necessary | 30 minutes |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors, so we can count how many people use the site | Analytics, only with consent | Up to 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Keeps track of a visit (session) | Analytics, only with consent | Up to 2 years |
The durations for Google Analytics come from Google's own documentation. Some browsers shorten them; Safari, for example, limits them to 7 days if you don't return.
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it: which pages people read, how they arrive and where they leave. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics to identify you.
Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to work as you ask, for example to remember your cookie choice or information you have entered in a form. The law allows these without consent. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site may then not work.
Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Your browser's help pages explain how.
