Intermediate Mechanical Engineer – Major Projects

The opportunity

Evolve Partners is recruiting an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to support the delivery of a major, technically complex construction project in London.

This opportunity would suit an engineer with experience in mechanical building services, construction delivery and technical coordination who is looking to develop their career within a demanding engineering environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineering, construction and project management teams, supporting the coordination, installation, inspection and commissioning of mechanical systems.

The role

• Support the technical coordination and delivery of mechanical building services packages.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Identify and resolve technical queries, installation issues and design coordination challenges.
• Monitor mechanical installation activities against project requirements and quality standards.
• Support site inspections, quality assurance and technical documentation.
• Assist with testing, commissioning and project handover activities.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and support the resolution of RFIs.
• Work collaboratively with electrical, architectural and other engineering disciplines.

What they're looking for

• Previous experience in mechanical engineering within construction, building services or major infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of mechanical building services systems and installation methodologies.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and site-based construction teams.
• Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing project priorities.
• Experience on technically complex or mission-critical projects would be advantageous.
