Interim Engineering Manager

The opportunity

A Manchester engineering business has lost its engineering manager mid-way through a critical upgrade programme. It needs an experienced interim to steady the team and land the work over the next six months.

The role

• Take immediate charge of a team of around 25 engineers
• Stabilise delivery on a live upgrade programme
• Reset priorities and reporting with the operations director
• Identify the permanent structure the team needs
• Hand over cleanly to a permanent successor

What they're looking for

• Engineering management in a manufacturing or infrastructure setting
• Interim experience, starting quickly and making an impact early
• Chartered status or equivalent depth
• A steady, practical style with a team under pressure
• Availability within two weeks

£650 to £750 per day outside IR35 (sample figure)
