For candidates
Thinking about
a move?
We can talk privately. Nothing goes anywhere without your agreement. Whether you are actively looking or simply open to the right conversation, I’m happy to hear from you.
Confidential, always
Your search stays between us. Your employer never hears it from me.
Your CV, your call
Nothing is shared with any company until you have agreed it, by name.
Honest feedback
If a role is not right for you, I will tell you, and tell you why.
Moving to the UAE
Questions I’m asked most often by senior candidates considering the Gulf.
Your employer. Under UAE law, the employer arranges your work permit and residence visa and can’t pass the costs on to you. I don’t arrange visas, but I’ll make sure you know what to expect.
The UAE doesn’t tax individual income, but leaving the UK doesn’t automatically end your UK tax residence. Take advice on your own situation before you go.
Basic salary and each allowance listed separately (housing, transport, schooling), flights home, and health cover for each family member. The split matters, because end-of-service gratuity is based on basic pay.
It depends on the emirate. In Abu Dhabi, employers must cover employees and their families. In Dubai, employers must cover you, but cover for dependants is often your responsibility, so negotiate it explicitly.
Between 30 and 90 days, the same for both sides. Your notice period with your current UK employer still applies before you can start.
